OCTRONICA3

The Octronica fest returns with a quartet of alchemists delivering all things electronic; from breakbeats to techno, leftfield trip-hop and more. This year the event sets up shop at The Cannery Garage in Havana, FL just one week before Halloween. Follow Burlap Productions on Instagram for all the bits & pieces; full press release below*.

*OCTRONICA is the annual showcase of live electronic performance curated by Glenn Swan (Burlap Productions). Each year he is joined by local beat-makers, button pushers and sequencer savants to offer a night of diverse music. Partnering with The Analog House and K.O.T., the event travels just north of the city to the spacious and recently resurrected Cannery Garage; a funky and fantastic venue in Havana, FL. Come test-drive your costumes one week before Halloween and fill your head with tricks and treats from:

• Nathan Pugh - trained on drums, Nathan samples his own playing alongside sweet, left-field melodies and a kaleidoscopic patchwork of vocal sound-bytes.

• Rexford_ - a champion of minimal techno and stark modulations, Keith McCall delivers focused photons of synthesizers and crisp, geometric rhythms.

• Buster Wolf - serving up a full menu of hip-hop and conjuring unpredictable mix-tape beats that are pure street-graffiti for the ears.

• Burlap Productions - Glenn is the Swiss Army Knife of the group with home-made gear and a set stretched between cold polyrhythms and volcanic breakbeats.

Deeply committed to a good show, the sonic sorcery will be enhanced by a backdrop of visuals courtesy of Chris Faupel from the Tallahassee Film Festival, along with a couple classic arcade machines supplied by co-host K.O.T. at the Cannery. A merch table will be on-site (open for cash-based phone apps) and a couple other surprises as well -- not to be missed. Look for the blue octopus guarding the door, wear a costume and get your ears ready for a fest that beats the rest.
